OK for the fish: i only have 2 stocks that i layered and flushed out the color of the fish abit and ended up creating the fishing line from scratch

For Kangaroo: this one was a quickie and more of a dare but i liked how it came out so thought id get some cnc on it since its a different style than i normally do

For Grey Fullbuster: for this one i ended up doing a patch on his face to remove the battle textures on him as well as doing a sharpen and color enhance then layere the ice texture over him and behind him.

archer: i submitted this one into SOTW and used only 2 main stocks and about 2 more smaller ones that i cant find again but they didnt have much of a over all effect on the image.

After talking with other designers we have come to the conclusion that this image will dock you a point. while it looks acceptable at first glance, it is not. your render is just placed over a stock image. it is blended improperly, and the stock cuts off on the side where the arrow is. also, the lines from your stock go right over your main focal point, the face. this is a big no no. on top of all of this, your text is spelled wrong. there are some things nice about this image though. the flow, while bad on the right, works well on the left. you also chose colors suitable to your render.

this image is better. you rendered the fish pretty well, and it blends nice. the line you made is also very nice. However, you will not receive any points for this image because the 2 images you used are just pasted on top of one another without any type of editing to make it your own. you are currently at 10

this image is much better, but could still use work. there is definite improvement towards more editing as well as use of multiple images. i will talk with other designers tonight and come to a conclusion on how points shall be awarded for this image

Yea i noticed that after i submitted it that the lines hid the face a good bit which i want to go back and fix any want. but i did far more to the sock than slap it on. i had to do alot of color darken and lighten through out to get the light from the tip of the arrow as well as cleaned up the face and around the eyes removing the eye shadow entirely. the flow was abit difficult and wasn't able to get anything on the right that wouldn't take up the attention so i kinda left that alone to the c4d to fill that space as best it could. if you have a idea to fill that space i would love to hear it as i got stumped.

you could add depth by adding clouds or another c4d to the front of the image, effectively covering images you want hidden

i thought about using another c4d or background to add too it but when i did it took to much focus off the arrow and the render

Sometimes using a c4d is good but i like using backgrounds honestly, best way i do it is ERASE! The eraser tool can be your best friend, also mess with the filters and see what goes with the focal and your background. Also play with the gradient maps a lil you'll be surprised how helpful those things are and how well it brings everything together. Honestly step out of your comfort zone when it comes to making sigs try not to get so caught up on mastering your current process because 9 times out of 10 you'll enhance that process and before you know it you'll have a whole new process you're using. So don't get too comfortable using that style, make sure you're adding depth (best way is to slightly blur his arm slightly blur the chest and sharpen his face, hand and bow) it'll give you the depth need. You're in the right direction just when you're making your Sig step back and look at it, Hell if need be get a second opinion we have talented designers willing and waiting to help you.

Green one on this page...shredda explained it wayyyyyyy better than I did ;)

Thanks bro and he's in the right direction just trial and error, he'll get it I was in the same boat as him when I joined. Hell I'm still learning lol you guys are way better, he's got talented people helping him. Also a lil trick I do is instead of putting the background behind I put it in front and change the filter to where you can see my guy and I erase from there, it also helps with the blending as well.

yea i thats what i do for alot of my backgrounds is either do a layer mask like i did with the gery fullbuster sig or do a color to alpha (black) to make it see through for textures. ill work on the archer sig and try to improve the focal
