Meeting Notes 1/10/2021

"The Essence of Great Leadership is Influence, Not Authority"​

Goals for 2021
It's the beginning of the year, now is a great time to reflect back on 2020 and what you accomplished. Now is the time to set goals for this year - keep them as S.M.A.R.T. goals and make sure your leaders do the same with your assistance.

S - Specific = Don't create a goal that is unclear or needs detailed explanation, it should be specific enough to be easily understood when talking about it.
M - Measurable = Determine how you will be able to tell if the goal is 25% complete, 50% complete, and so on. If the goal isn't met 100%, talk about why.
A - Achievable = Make a goal that is not unreasonable. For example, if you set a recruiting goal for 10 recruits in a week, but typically only bring in 1-2, that goal will most likely not be met. Start with something realistic, and if that goal is met easily, then increase it for the next time.
R - Relevant = Have the goal be something the squad or clan needs to work on. For example, if recruiting is slow and needs improvement, that would be a good goal. If recruiting is something that happens normally and isn't a struggle, a goal for leadership training and development would be better.
T - Time Bound = Set a time-frame for the goal to be achieved. Whether it's a short term or long term goal, having a "due date" helps keep people focused and working towards it.

Make sure that when you set a goal you are checking in on progress at least a couple of times a week, to help keep everyone focused and ensure it isn't forgotten. If the goal isn't met, discuss why - it shouldn't be a negative conversation, just a discussion about why it didn't happen and how to try to achieve it using a different strategy.

Why People Join XG - Your Attitude & Enthusiasm Matter!
There are two main reasons that people join Xiled Gaming:
#1: Having like-minded gamers to play with when they are online!
#2: Competition, whether within their clan or the community

Gaming is supposed to be fun - make sure your attitude when you enter parties is enthusiastic, enthusiasm is contagious! We all need to get some pep in our step and show members why we're the best gaming community out there. If you have members in leadership who have lost their drive, it trickles down to members as well, so figure out what makes XG fun for you and embrace that.

Recruiting
All members are responsible for recruiting. As leaders, it is our responsibility to teach lower-ranking members how to properly recruit. We always recruit QUALITY over QUANTITY. We are looking for like-minded gamers who show interest in joining the community and are a good fit within that clan and the people already part of the clan, if they aren't quite fitting in but haven't done anything wrong, try to find a clan that they will fit in better. If someone is teabagging they would be a better fit for SYN, don't set them up in a KoG or XGC clan where they will get in trouble for playing how they usually play. There are many ways to recruit, don't be afraid to try something new if what you or your members have been doing isn't working.

Website Updates
A few updates on the website took place this last week. An important one being the User Name Change button. It is no longer located in the drop-down by clicking your name in the top right-hand corner of the website. You have to click on ‘Account Details’ and then click ‘Change’ next to your current user name.
You can also organize sticky threads within clan forums, for example, you could make it so the Clan List thread is always at the top of the stickied threads followed by Squad Lists - for assistance hit up your chain of command.

Meeting Feedback
Please start an open conversation in all meetings about how we can make the meetings more meaningful. What does everyone find the most useful/helpful from meetings currently? Are there current ongoing issues with meetings that should be thought of changing? All XS & XD take note of this conversation because we will be asking for feedback.
Speaking of “taking notes,” someone should be taking notes or minutes at every meeting so when a member brings up an idea, suggestion, or comment regarding something they would like to see done, changed, or questioned, there is a record of the conversation. The notes should be relayed to the next level of the chain of command and posted in the same thread that the attendance is recorded.
There are instances where those items are getting mentioned but not relayed to the correct leaders that could either consider the request or provide clarity of the issue.

Individual Goals
Generals remember to work closely with your XS to ensure everyone is aware of your individual goals for your clan as well as you personally.

Communication
When someone reaches out to you, whether it's through Xbox, the website, or Discord, please make sure you are replying as soon as you are able, even if it's just to let them know you received the message and that you'll get with them when you are next available.

What is Effective communication?
Effective communication is about more than exchanging information. It's about understanding the emotions and intentions behind the information. It is being able to clearly convey a message to another person, you also need to listen to the full meaning of what is being said and makes the other person heard and understood.

Team Effort
Everything we do within Xiled Gaming is a Team Effort, regardless of Rank or which squad, clan, section, or division you may be in. The Community is based on our Honor Code, Rank Structure, Rules & Guidelines, and Team Work. We pull the rope together and we succeed or fail together, but we always do it as a group. No one person is bigger than the whole, no one in-game loss is more important than all the fun we have together. Here are just a few things we have to do to be the best Community we can be;

* Recruiting: Building our community is everyone's responsibility, no one person can do this alone, make sure you are bringing in good like-minded gamer's to be a part of the environment you want to create, with this you will be helping us pull the rope, Remember we all are facilitators of fun.

* Training Recruits to be good members, It takes a whole Clan to be open to new members, invites these potential members to games, Welcomes them, be a good example, shows them the ropes, teaches them about the community, and work with them so they can become a valued community member., as we grow its more important that we grow together.

* Practices: Training together, Learning the Tactics, getting to know each other's playing styles, and learning from each other will prepare us for Victory and help us learn from defeat.

* Clan Compete / Game Battles: As a team, Everyone should put forth their own best effort in any in-game play, while maintaining the environment of Good Sportsmanship, regardless of win or lose we always say Good Game!

* Meetings, Meetings are a great place to share ideas, celebrate successes, discuss any issue, offer feedback on how to improve our environments, Remembers we cant make things better without teamwork. Team Effort is what it is all about.

* Communication: exchanging thoughts and ideas with the intention of delivering information and goals. Communication is the key to success, not only within the community but also in both professional and personal scenarios. Successful leaders are those marked by their effective use of communication and understanding of their followers.

No member gets left behind: ensue all gamer"s are being involved, reach out to the ones who are not.

Honor Code and Golden Rule
When is racism or sexism OK? Never!! Some people think it's ok to be racist or sexist in locked parties and believe they won't be removed, thinking this is a loophole in the system. This is false information!! If someone is reported as being racist or sexist in-game chat, private party chat, discord, etc.., they will be removed.

News Team
The Xiled Gaming News Team The Xiled Gaming News Team is looking for members. If you like writing about upcoming games, providing reviews of new content, or game strategies; we have a spot for you. Maybe you enjoy doing interviews and providing an article with insight on leaders and/or hall of fame members; we can provide that access. How about reporting on Clan Compete matches, tournaments, or game nights? Report on the action highlighting the members that stand out. NEWS TEAM APPLICATION INFORMATION AND FORMAT

Meeting Time
Beginning March, our meeting times will be changing. All leadership meetings (General and up) will change to the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month. Our big meeting (XS-XI) will be held quarterly in replacement of one of those 2 meetings. This meeting will be held on stream for all of the community to participate
Generals should continue to hold all Clan meetings weekly with no change.
Seeing as how gaming is why we are all here, all leaders should take advantage of the free Sundays to spend more time gaming with their clans/sections, etc.

Random Stuff
XG Teams are also being updated. We currently have a Design Team, an Events Team, and we will be bringing back the News Team and include a new Stream Team. X-team, Leadership training team, Social media team, Round table team, More details to come. Be on the lookout for future announcements in the discord.

Strike Pack Controller Mods
Microsoft does not make these mods; a 3rd party manufacturer makes them. The mod packs manipulate on-line gameplay, such as automatic rapid-fire, no-aim, no scope, auto-aim, etc. The use of these types of mods is against the fair play article of the XG Honor Code. Any members caught using this device are not abiding by the Honor Code and will be dealt with accordingly, resulting in demotion or removal from the community. This will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

Honor Code
Violations consist of trash talking, t-bagging, discrimination, racism, sexism, harassment, illegal drugs, cheating, poaching, squad de-ranking, or any other aggressive behavior toward fellow online gamers. Cheating is defined as any manipulation of online play; this includes, but is not limited to modding, bridging, stand-by, forcing host, action replay, glitching/super jumping in match making/ranked games to gain an unfair advantage, playing online custom / ranked games with Modders, and circle boosting. Every situation is different and will be handled appropriately on a case-by-case basis. (T-bagging and trash-talking is allowed for syndicate)

Remember that we have an upcoming Warzone tournament on April 10, 2021 @8pm est on Clan Compete. There are still plenty of open spots. Get your team together, and let's meet each other on the streets of Verdansk.

Streaming
While streaming is a great way to get yourself out there, be mindful of your surroundings. You are not only representing yourself but also the community. Honor Code still applies during stream if you are using your profile.

To eliminate drama and keep any favoritism or feelings from influencing decisions, XG does not allow husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend, or immediate family to report directly. We realize that with the amazing members we have, you might find the person who completes your life at some point. If you do, we require you to notify a leader (XD, XC, XI) so one of you can be moved. Notifying a leader of these relationships will not result in the loss of rank or removal from the community. However, any lying, deception, manipulation of stories or members, or relationships that generate issues or drama for the community may result in demotion and/or removal from the community. The rank structure is intended to be followed without personal feelings or emotional decisions affecting the directions of our clans.
Look, we get it; some of you are going to date. We don't care! Just spare your division and us the drama of going through it by being honest!

RELATIONSHIPS AND LEADERSHIP IN XG​

RESPECT
-------Being aware of your surroundings. When your gaming or in a party chat with fellow members, please be aware of your surroundings. Don't just go popping off at the mouth and saying inappropriate things or sayings. Some people may get offended even though you didn't mean it in a hurtful or derogatory way. Also, if someone asks you not to say something, have respect and not do it while they are around.

Website App
We are proud to announce our new website app. Xenforo recently released an update that upgraded the website to support what's called a Progressive Web App, or PWA for short. Without getting too technical, a PWA is supposed to be the best of both worlds compared to a Web App or Native App (The apps you get out of the Google Play or Apple Store). You install it on your device (desktop or mobile) through your browser. However, several browsers are supported; however, it works best through chrome or chromium-based browsers, like Firefox and the new Microsoft Edge. Apple devices are have limited features but are also capable of downloading the app.
So how do you download it?

1. Open your chrome browser and log into our website.
2. Click the three parallel lines in the upper left-hand corner and scroll down.
3. At the bottom, there will be an install app option.

Discord
Discord is one of the official forms of communication of Xiled Gaming and is a valuable tool at our disposal. Please make sure we are using this to our full advantage. It is fully acceptable to utilize Discord for meetings if necessary ., Ex. When someone isn't able to use the Xbox or Xbox App, discord can be used for communication. Holding meetings is encouraged for this.

There have been "Gamers" going around called TSB and XGN, Xiled Syndicate. These people have been adding higher leadership and then looking on their friend's lists to see who they can come after and annoy. There are trying to poach and also DDOS Xiled Gaming members offline, so if these gamers contact you, we highly suggest ignoring them and blocking them so that something like this doesn't happen to you.

Discord
As some of you may have seen, we have added a few new things to your Division Discords. Each Section Leader has their own section channel and chat box for their section and categories with voice boxes for you all to utilize for meetings.

HonorCode : Section VI
In the Honor Code of Section VI - XILED GAMING, members CANNOT be a part of any other gaming communities/clans! All gamer tags must be either in XILED GAMING clans or in none at all. XILED GAMING does NOT have ANY alliances with other gaming communities/clans! XILED GAMING will remain friendly and professional with ALL gaming communities at all times! ZERO TOLERANCE! If a XILED GAMING member leaves, they are NOT allowed back. In the event of a member wanting to come back, each situation will be looked at by the COUNCIL/Division Leaders on a case-by-case basis.

LEADING BY EXAMPLE
Leading by example means you're guiding others through your behaviors and inspiring them to do the same as you. When you lead by example, you provide a path to direct others down so that everyone is working towards a common goal with the same purpose, all the while creating a picture of what's possible. People can look at you and say, "Well, if he can do it, I can do it." Build that relationship with your members and learn from one another.

TRANSFERS
Members requesting to transfer have the right to transfer to a clan that they feel best suits them. Most transfers are unjustly denied due to personal reasons or emotions. This being said, transfers are never denied unless that transfer will without a doubt cause the community harm. An unhappy member will not only not benefit you, but they will also resent you for denying their transfer. This will eventually develop into problems.

CLUTCH FOR COBRA
Saturday, 05/22/2021 starting @5pm Eastern Time, Xiled Gaming will be hosting a Charity Stream in Honor of KoG Cobra XD. All donations will go to the family. A variety of games will be played, and members will receive prizes for participation, so don't forget to check out the Twitch Stream @XiledGamingTV.

RESEARCHING
When bringing new members into your clans, you always have to ask yourself these questions. Have they ever been in Xiled Gaming? Do they meet the age requirements of your specific division, and do you feel that they are a good fit for the community as a whole? Whether they are former members or new members, you as leaders should be researching on the website to ensure that these members are not trying to sneak back into the community in an attempt to avoid the Grass Wasn't Greener process. If a returning member approaches you about being removed for inactivity, Generals, you still have to find the removal request and verify that the member was removed from the community for inactivity. If you cannot find a removal request, please reach out to your leadership for further research.

SERGEANT
Sergeants must meet all their responsibilities as outlined in the XG Rank Structure and hold their rank for a minimum of 2 weeks. They must also show they want to be part of the XG leadership. They must play with recruits and privates and be an example to them on how to play. Sergeants should work closely with their Lieutenant to learn how the responsibilities of leadership work. Sergeants should encourage all members of the squad/clan to add every member to assist in building good gaming relationships between members. Never let time requirements dictate a promotion. Ensuring that the individual is a good fit for the position is key. Utilize them to recruit as a requirement to teach them about their future rank responsibilities.

NAME CHANGES
If you have new members joining the community, remind them that they cannot change their name on Xbox and have XGC, KoG, SYN in front of it. Once they have reached the rank of a Sergeant, they are eligible to put in a name change to the General. The General will then research the name on the website and on Xbox to ensure that the name isn't already taken by someone else before submitting it into their Section Leaders Forums. The Section Leader will then do a second search to verify that there are no other duplicate names. Once the Section Leader approves the name change in their forums, the member can request a name change through the website. Gamertags cannot be changed until a Division Leader or higher approves them on the website. If you are requesting a name with either XGC, KoG, SYN in front of it, the name cannot duplicate another member's name or a Clan Name. If it is spelled differently but sounds the same, it will be Denied.

PROFESSIONALISM AND FAIR PLAY
XILED GAMING members will display a professional gaming demeanor at all times. Any match an XG member participates in should observe the rules of Fair Play, Sportsmanship, and Respect. As an XG member, you not only represent yourself but XILED GAMING as a whole.

Communication & Accountability
Communication is the key to success; this goes hand in hand with Accountability., We as leaders in this community must recognize how important accountability to yourself, your responsibilities, and your peers truly is.

Honor Code IX
Honor Code violations consist of discrimination, racism, sexism, harassment, illegal drugs, cheating, poaching, squad de-ranking, or any other overly aggressive behavior toward fellow online gamers. Cheating is defined as any manipulation of online play; this includes, but not limited to modding, bridging, stand-by, forcing host, action replay, glitching/super jumping in match making/ranked games to gain an unfair advantage, playing online custom / ranked games with Modders, and circle boosting. Every situation is different and will be handled appropriately on a case-by-case basis.

Harassment
To harass is plainly defined as "Subject to aggressive pressure or intimidation.
No member should feel as if they are a victim of harassment in this community. We all joined this community to game with like-minded gamers and having fun., Harassment can come in many forms. Two of the most common are verbal harassment & visual harassment. Have an open discussion with your leadership pipeline on this topic, find ways to recognize & combat harassment effectively.

Recruiting
It is everyone's job to be out there recruiting looking for new members to join the community. Help out other clans if they are having trouble getting new members. It's not about having the biggest clan, it's about building our community as a whole. If a Sargent or lower has a new member, a Lieutenant or higher must be present for the read-in/recruitment. Faults the mind-killer:
It is easy to find fault in anything, whether it be in real life or community-related, find a solution to that fault and remedy it, never believe reaching a solution is unattainable, it takes patients, & understanding, bundled with communication is key, knowing how to approach the situation with a calm, cool demeanor to squash the negativity that a believed fault is producing to obtain the peace of mind needed to proceed with clarity. Never allow yourself as a leader to fall victim to believing in faults of any kind. Always seek the truth before a fault can do damage.

Leading by Example:
Every leader was chosen for their leadership qualities, so it is important never to focus on leading by example. Instead, remember a boss's orders, a leader leads. One of the best examples of this is having objectives as a leader, such as helping those who are doing poorly to do well and help those who are doing well to do even better. So setting personal objectives for ourselves as leaders in the community is very beneficial not only for us but also for our leadership pipelines.
We should always hold ourselves accountable as leaders striving to improve our own skills to serve our members better.
AS leaders, we know there are two different types of Banter, friendly and unwanted. Knowing how to differentiate the two and have professional discussions to deescalate any unneeded problem is key., if this problem arises, contact your leadership for advice.

Adapting to change:
Every leader has their own sense of leading. We have our own styles in which makes us unique leaders. We all need to be aware of our members so we can better serve our members. Knowing our members will help each of us tweak our leadership abilities to fit their needs. BE aware of your surroundings, always ready for the unexpected to take place., Stay three steps ahead, Have a plan for a plan.

Being a Team Leader
A Leader helps to guide a team towards achieving a certain goal while managing and resolving technical and interpersonal roadblocks along the way. As a result, the role of a team leader often requires people to exercise organizational and people skills.
UNITING THEIR TEAM - The team leader should ensure that all clan members clearly understand their roles related to others on the team. Everyone should know how they are expected to work together to achieve success.
PLANTING GOALS AND MILESTONES - As a leader, you should establish a plan for your Clan to reach their goals by identifying and communicating responsibilities to the clan members. MOTIVATE, INSPIRE, and EDUCATE!

How can a Leader motivate their team?
An effective leader should motivate and empower others to be their best. Every clan will face setbacks or unexpected problems. A leader’s ability to encourage others during challenging times creates a successful team. ALWAYS LEAD BY EXAMPLE. Act as a member of the clan, show your commitment, and inspire others by doing the right thing. Adhering to the rules and Showing appreciation to every member in your clan and Identifying, communicating, and upholding the core values in line with those that can help people feel more inspired and motivated toward achieving certain goals.

Knowing the Characteristics of a Team Leader
A team leader should strive to be effective, accountable, empathetic, and courageous. Acting as a team leader is a great opportunity to develop your character. Team leaders should communicate information consistently and clearly to their team. A good team leader is also a skilled learner who can accept and act on team members' feedback, suggestions, and concerns. A good leader believes in the ability of their team to accomplish goals. This often improves the confidence, dedication, and motivation of team members. Rules and guidelines must be communicated clearly and applied consistently by creating tasks and working to create a positive environment that is equal and without favoritism. A good team leader motivates individuals to do their best work to contribute to the goal, especially in stress or difficulty.

As a reminder, please make sure if you're going on vacation or be away from the Xbox for a long time. Also, please make sure you communicate with your chain of command. Let higher and lower leadership know, so there isn't any miss communication on what you were about are.

Name Changes
As Leaders, it is our responsibility to ensure that those below us know the proper route to take when doing name changes on the website. Generals, when members are requesting a name change, you should be researching these names on the website and gaming platforms to ensure that the name isn't already taken. Names including XGC, KoG, SYN in front of it should be thoroughly researched before it is posted in your Section Leader's forums. If the name already exists on the website and has been active for less than 3yrs on both the gaming platform and/or the website, it will be denied. Names that are deemed inappropriate or offensive will be denied as well. Names that duplicate another member's name, a clan name, or a fellow Leader's name will also be denied. Remember, having these 3 letters in front of your name, you not only represent yourself but your division and your community as a whole. Once the names have been researched and submitted to the Section Leader, it is their responsibility to do follow-up research and double-check to ensure that the names are good. Members should wait until the name is changed on the website before changing it on your specific console.

Community Teams
As you all know, Xiled Gaming also has 4 teams. They are the Events Team, News Team, Design Team, and the Stream Team. Each team has a specific Team Leader assigned to oversee and make sure that they are being run smoothly. As members of these teams, we are always looking for people to join us in helping to make Xiled Gaming fun and more enjoyable on a day-to-day basis. Whether it be hosting Game nights on certain games to writing about new and upcoming games or interviewing Leaders, Designing new banners/signatures and avatars, and streaming your games for fellow gamers to view, we all have a goal to reach in this community. As leaders of these teams, our goal is to ensure that members have fun and network with others that share the same idea. If anyone is interested in being a part of these Teams, feel free to hit up your Leaders at any time with any questions.

Working Together as a Team
As a member and a leader in this community, we should be working together as a team. With that being said, ALL LEADERS in all three Divisions should be working together in handling these issues and not against each other. If an issue should arise in your Division and your fellow peer isn't available, you can reach out to other Divisions for assistance in resolving these issues. Remember, not all issues need to be handled instantly the moment has occurred. We are all Leaders for the same reasons and the same goal. There is no excuse as to why we are working against each other.

FOR EXAMPLE:
If a general has issues in their clan and their XS is not available, they can ask any other XS in the division or COMMUNITY on basic issues until the XS of the general can get with the general and close the issue.

Working together is a big part of the XG Community, and making sure if we have issues with people, we address them with the person this will help solve the issues before they get out of hand. We don't ever talk through people. It is the quickest way to misunderstandings and drama.

Upcoming Meetings
With the upcoming holidays, the next meeting will be in 2 weeks August 29th. There is no meeting on the first Sunday in September due to Labor Day.

Recruiting:
When recruiting members, remember quality over quantity. We want ideal members, not just numbers. Being selective on who's brought into the clan/community will undoubtedly benefit both. Make sure you're recruiting like-minded individuals and gamers that share the same idea and goals as you do.
Remember when recruiting, keep in mind that some of these people you recruit could be returning members as well. It is your responsibility to research any gamertags that they have had. If members were removed for inactivity a GwG is not needed. For those that were removed for Honor Code Violations etc or if you cannot find a removal request for the said member because of them being gone for so long or if it was lost somewhere, Send them through the Grass Wasn't Greener process. Never assume someone was removed due to Inactivity just because they said that they were.

Training Your Replacement
All leadership ranks are responsible for making sure that they train their own replacement. This is also known as building your leadership pipeline. If a Captain has to step down for personal reasons, their LT should be ready to take their place without waiting several weeks for training to take place. If you aren't preparing for these situations proactively and holding your leaders accountable for their rank responsibilities, your clan will not be able to move forward and be successful. If you don't know what to do in order to overcome an issue in your clan, ask your XS or use the open door policy to find out, don't just wait until the issue happens, focus on preventing the issue from ever occurring.

Training Tools
When training members at any rank, remember to teach them the proper way. Explain things in detail and always try to set them up for success! Teach them the tools they'll need to be better leaders and support them. Communication is key! Having an open line of communication will and does increase the success of the clan.

LEADERSHIP TOOLS​

Setting Goals
You should be working with your clans and leaders to ensure they are setting goals for themselves on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. What do you do on a daily basis to move your clans and leaders forward? How are they moving forward in their progression as leaders and helping those below them succeed and get to their next step? If they aren't moving forward and pushing themselves and others forward, they are stagnant. Make sure this isn't happening with any of your clans, and if it is, figures out how to get them out of their rut. If they aren't upholding their responsibilities, you need to train them or find a new leader.

Leadership Classes
These classes are designed to help your leadership obtain the knowledge to move forward as a successful leader. The only classes that are MANDATORY are the General's Classes and Section Leader's class. The Captain Class is not mandatory but highly recommended. In the event a captain hasn't taken the class, work with him/her and try to get them in one as it will help when they move up in leadership. There is NO penalty for a captain not taking the class so we do not demote Captains just because they haven’t taken the Captain class.

Clan Sizes
Generals, when your clan is moving towards 25-30 members, your XS and yourself should be developing a plan for a clan split and getting your leadership ready. The optimized clan should have 20-30 members with full leadership and replacements ready to go. When looking at number of squads in your clan, you do not need to have a specific number of squads in order to do a clan split - clan splits are done when leadership is ready. We have the Clan Structure in place for a reason. Squad splits should be taking place when members have earned that promotion and shown that they will be able to run a successful squad.

Know The Basics
Make sure you and your leaders know where to find all of the basic leadership tools on the website, such as the clan structure, rank structure, and promotion requirements. You should be able to help all members on where to find these as well. If you haven't looked through the XG Bible, that is also a great resource for both you and your Generals to be able to view answers from XC/XI on questions that have been posted over the years on a wide variety of topics. If you aren't sure about an answer, that is a great place to look if nobody is available to pull into a party at that time, if you can't find an answer anywhere you can start a thread yourself to get a response.

Clan/Squad Lists
Remember, these are mandatory and are due BY the 1st and 15th of each month. They may be posted up to 3 days in advance, so if you or your Captain needs to post early, make sure you do so, rather than posting late.

Stay In Your Lane
As a General, it is your responsibility to run a successful clan. In order to do so, you must focus on yourself and your clan first, not what is going on in other clans. If an issue arises between one of your members and a member in another clan, bring it to your Section Leaders' attention immediately so it can be handled. If a member from another clan comes to you with an issue, direct them to their leadership first, or tell them to utilize the open door policy and hit up an XD/XC/XI if it isn't being handled.

Communication
Generals, when and if you are not available for meetings, it is your responsibility to inform the leadership above and below you of your unavailability. Communication is the key to success. Let the leadership below know that they can reach out to other generals regarding Sunday meetings so that they are not left out. Also, remember to communicate to your fellow peers and your section Leader to ensure that your section is covered during meetings so that someone can pick them up for meetings.

Respecting one another
Respecting one another No matter what clan, section, or division you are a part of, you need to treat everyone with respect no matter the circumstances you are put under. This goes hand in hand with acting professionally as a leader. It would be best to hold yourself to a higher standard when presenting yourself to members and other leaders in the community.

Working with Peers
Working with Peers To be successful as a group of leaders, we have to be working as a team. You have to be a strong enough leader to put petty differences aside to work for the betterment of the whole team. There is no room for condescending remarks or attitudes when a peer comes to you for help. Furthermore, if you are a General with experience, you should be sharing your experiences to help your fellow Generals. None of us have the same experiences; therefore, you can be a valuable asset during those times. For example, say that a new General has a clan that is having issues and needs rebuilding. If you know that this General has never been through this before and you have, why wouldn't you want to share your knowledge to help your peer and the community?

Supporting and Guiding our Captains
Supporting and Guiding our Captains As Generals, it is your responsibility to guide your Captains to success. First, you must make sure that they understand the requirements of the positions and what is expected of them to meet those requirements. Then holding your Captains responsible for taking their classes, upstanding their responsibilities, and guiding their members is essential to your job.

Establishing Priorities
Establishing Priorities, you must prioritize the limited amount of time that you have on the box. We do not expect you to have to deal with XG business the whole time while you are on the box. However, we do expect that you are taking care of business or issues promptly. That means getting what needs to be done, done. If you know you need to speak to a Captain for your weekly meeting, knock that out when you first get on, then enjoy your evening. If you become better at managing your time, your duties will not build up until you feel overwhelmed. Another point regarding setting priorities, if you have a Squad that is having issues or is not doing so well, you need to spend more time helping out in this squad than you need to with a clan that is doing well. It is your job to ensure the success of the clans in your section, so you need to be helping find solutions or providing input or set goals for clans in need.

Grass Wasn't Greener
As a reminder, when it comes to the Grass Wasn't Greener Applications, only Section Leaders and higher can reply to the application to hit them up if there is any information regarding the returning member. If a General has any information regarding the person, they are to report to their Section Leader, and the Section Leader will then reply to the application so that a GwG Researcher will know to reach out to them. We do not continuously hit up the researchers and ask why this person's application has not been picked up yet. GwG applications can sit there for up to 90 days before being picked up by a researcher. If a member was recently removed and in less than 24hrs after their removal and decided they want to put in an application to return or were removed due to certain events, their application will not be touched for 2 weeks.

Chain of Command
Please make use of the Chain of Command. If your reporting leader is not available, please reach out to others of the same rank. For example, if a Captain needs help and their General is not available, reach out to other Captains then try other Generals. If the issue cannot be handled, then take it up to your Section Leader; if your XS is not available, go to another XS. It is in the Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and the General Responsibilities to use and follow the Chain of Command. Please refer to your responsibilities on the website if needing a refresher. Assisting your fellow peers and working amongst each other will help you grow and learn more about the community, bettering your leadership qualities. Intro to Generals Class​

SYN DESI XD will be hosting an Intro to Generals Class on 09-10-2021 at 9 pm EST. It is open to any member holding the current rank of General in all divisions within XG. This class will be held in Party Chat, with only 10 spots available.

Advance Generals Class 9-18-2021 @9pm Eastern​

XGC Mini Me XD will be hosting an Advanced Generals Class on 09-18-2021 at 9 pm EST. It is open to any member holding the current rank of General in all divisions within XG that has passed the Intro to Generals Class. This class will be held in Party Chat, with only 10 spots available.

UPCOMING NEW GAMES
As many of you may know, there will be new games dropping within the upcoming year. Please make sure you, as leaders, are talking to your members to ensure that they will not be left behind. If you feel that your members would fit better in another clan that plays the same game as they do, please find them a clan they would be best suited in. If the member wishes to remain in the clan, come to a reasonable solution and adapt. We don't want to push our members out because new games are dropping, some can't purchase the game instantly, or some refuse to get the latest games.

REMOVAL REQUESTS
When making removal requests, please make sure that removal request reasons should be a brief message stating why they are being removed. If the member wants to return and puts in a GWG, it'll help the researchers expedite the process more clearly. Putting down that the member LEFT is impeding the process of the GWG
Also, if you are putting in a mass removal request where the reason for removal is the same, please place them on one ticket. It isn't necessary to have multiple removal requests from one clan with all members listed as inactive. If you see that the removal request you put in earlier in the day has not been processed yet, go and edit the request, then go from there.

LEADERSHIP PROMOTION
As a reminder, recycle leadership is frowned upon; we should be making sure we are training and having proper leadership ready. When looking to promote, keep in mind you are looking for your replacement and your potential growth in the community. With that being said, no position needs to be filled right away; take the time to ensure they are the right fit.

Fall Clean-Up
As we are heading into the fall season, it's that time of year when new games are coming out, and many transfers happen due to clans changing games. XS should be working with their Generals to clean up user groups and put in updated clan requests to change primary clan games.

Event Team
The Events team would like to know any games our members want to play in an event & remind our members all Events are added to the Calendar. All suggestions can be submitted to Event team personnel via discord or on the website.

XGC Tournaments
XiledGaming.com now has Tournament functionality, with a complimentary Clubs (squads/teams) feature that we'll be using for our competition events for the foreseeable future. As of now, we're planning on hosting a more significant, community-wide tournament every quarter or so (more info to come later). In the intervening time, however, the admin capabilities can and may be made available to anyone interested in running their tournament or similar event, whether for the whole community or just your clan/section/division. Tournament pitches, questions about the Tournaments/Clubs, or technical issues you encounter should be directed to XGC Traitor XC.

Preparing your Clan for the Future
As a reminder Section leaders, it is your responsibility to ensure that every clan under you is running successfully by working closely with your generals in setting short-term and long-term goals. Encouraging them and ensuring that these goals are being achieved in a timely manner. If there are bumps in the road along the way, please make sure you are providing the assistance that they need to be successful. The things that you are teaching your generals, they too should be teaching the leadership under them as well.

Establishing Priorities
When you speak to your generals, and your generals speak to their captains, It is important that you prioritize your limited amount of time that you have on the box. We do not expect you to have to deal with XG business the whole time while you are on the box. However, we do expect that you are taking care of business or issues in a timely manner. That means getting what needs to be done, done. If you know you need to speak to a general(s) for your weekly meeting, knock that out when you first get on, then enjoy your evening. If you become better at managing your time, your duties will not build up until you feel overwhelmed.
Another point regarding setting priorities, if you have a clan that is having issues or is not doing so well, you need to spend more time helping out in this clan than you need to with a clan that is doing well. It is your job to ensure the success of the clans in your section, so you need to be helping find solutions or providing input, or setting goals for clans that are in need.

Planning Ahead
There are new games on the horizon and members will be buying new games that suit their interests. We need to make sure that we are noticing which games members are buying so clans can keep organized. If a primary game needs to be changed, be sure there is an update clan posted in the help desk to reflect this. Remember, "No Member Left Behind" also means that if a member(s) is playing different games than the rest of the clan, then they might need to go to a different clan that is on the same game(s) that reflect their interests.

Handling Issues
When dealing with issues that arise within your clan(s), please remember to not listen to one side and take action. You need to find out ALL sides of the story before you take any action. This should include any and all evidence of what was said or done, and asking all other members involved with the situation to get their story prior to taking action.

Also please do not forget to talk with your peers if you want to get some advice (this isn't to say that you should do what they say or tell you, but it's to help catch another perspective).
