No, not whenever. SYN allows you to defend yourself whenever you are being harassed by people outside of the community. You are not allowed to initiate arguments/trash talk or trash talk other members in the community regardless of division.
there are also some other differences, though some people wont admit this to be true, i have found over the years that SYN is more laid back than KoG, that may be an opinion but its my opinion

Do you honestly believe that it DOESN'T happen in KoG or XGC? I was literally cursed out by SEVERAL XGC members a while ago and they all found the door out of the community very quickly. We will never be able to control the way someone thinks/acts, these are just rules XG has set and they need to be abided to stay. Not everyone will follow these rules when things get heated up or people are not paying attention.
not saying that but when i got recruited into this clan but KoG allows it if someone talks trash so I mean where is the difference? plus I've heard from some SYN guys that they do allow it so yea...
As a spokesperson for SYN (or as you call it, the crap-talkers...), I can tell you that we aren't too much different from you guys or XGC for that matter...
The only difference is that for you, if a guy is being an ultimate douchebag in matchmaking, you can't do much about it. For me though, I can give him what he deserves: a taste of his own medicine.
Trust me, don't believe everything you hear from others. 90 percent or more of SYN people don't really talk crap like you think we do; 100 percent of us don't talk crap to other members. Only a small few (like myself) will, if pissed off enough, go off on a kid in matchmaking. That's why I like SYN, it gives me the freedom to, if necessary, verbally destroy morons in matchmaking.

It does happen all over but you being me being in KoG i would still say there's 1 difference from KoG and SYN and thats the Trash talking, you guys would allow more trash talking then wat we would. as the XD said above me if someone trash talks him, he gives him a taste of his own medicine. if some one trash talks me im going to laugh about it and if he keeps going then hey i think every member in the XG community has the right to defend themselves by all means but no one in my section would pop in a game and go telling someone off same way i wouldn't think someone in SYN wouldn't pop in a game running there mouth but from my Experience ive seen people in SYN do it more then people in KoG, but i have seen it done in KoG also dont get me wrong its just more frequent to hear it from SYN in my opinion.

i can tell you i love SYN and i never talk trash....ask anyone in SYN if they have ever heard me dish it out they will tell you no lol
Well both groups have there arguements and nobody is wrong or right. People in KoG talk trash and People in SYN do too.
Anyways, After we figure out this issue with making a new clan, I would love to have some squad battles between KoG and SYN. Someone should start that up soon.

It's more of the matter that above all else, we're all human. When I was in KoG, I called a few guys some choice words (out of defense, mind you), and I heard other general's and captains cursing too. My point: Everyone, regardless of division, curses at some point or another. The important thing is that it doesn't happen between members in XG.
If we were that bad, it wouldn't be a division of XG. Mind you, we're still in the same honor code for the most part. The only separating issue is that we can talk smack...however, very few do actually exercise this right.
And I know everyone has their opinion, but this isn't the first time someone in another division has the wrong idea of us. I've seen quite a few posts/threads in the past few months where people just kinda get us figured all wrong.
I just wanted to try and set one of these such threads straight.

Edit: I can't say for KoG...but for SYN, I try to keep the division very laid back. People do their own thing so long as it doesn't go against regulation (they can call their squad whatever, hold meetings whenever, so long as they do their responsibilities). I think it can best be summed up by: They know what they need to do, they can get whatever that is done however they choose to. Maybe I'm impartial, but I think of myself as a laidback leader and SYN as a laidback, friendly division. Maybe that would help to point out the big difference. KoG is structure; SYN is more like college where as long as you get your work done, you're free to game whenever. I wanted it to be like this way and for the past two years I've been pushing for SYN to feel more like this. Relaxed, no stress...SYN.

yes deadeye is right, divisions constantly see SYN as the bad section of XG, but it really isnt the case, most people in SYN honestly would do well in both KoG and XGC its just SYN is where we are and we enjoy it here, sure there are trash talkers but like deadeye said trash talking is not for just SYN everyone does it, i was in a party last night with XD and XC and i can tell you they trash talked a couple of times, but it was all in good fun and we all said good game at the end and went about our business, it doesnt matter as long as you have fun and remember its just a game

the guy above me is right we're are all good clans and we should all game with each other sometime lol
