when I reach Sergeant in the clan I get to put XGC in my name. But my question is how do I know if what I want is available is there a way I can search it or should I just bring up a few names when I request the name change.

when you find the name you want to have simply submit the name to your general and he will take it to the section leader to have it approved.
Yes you do as many as you want to submit you can that way something is approved and you can choose between them.
Its a process to go thru still and you cant check everything but essentially if you do an advanced search then type in xgc (Whatever name you want) and then go thru and do it also for syn and kog that's a good start.
