I am going to purchase one or the other for school this year. I haven't done that much research on them yet, but I know the tablets have come a long way from their release. If you could leave quick reasons for purchasing either it would help me out immensely.

i prefer laptops for several reasons, first is the durability aspect, a tablet is alot less durable than a laptop. Another is tech, and what i mean by that is that you can fit alot better stuff in a laptop like a better bigger processor and graphics....etc. However it is in the end up to you as the purchaser.
labtop deff I know it's not always great for carrying around like the tablet is but I think a labtop would be a lot better for you just my option tho.
I prefer a tablet that has an attachable keyboard. I have the Microsoft surface and it is amazing. It's windows 8, and the keyboard comes in either touch, or actual keys. I love it and highly recommend.
Laptop you can do so much more with it...hell, you can buy laptops that are touchscreen so you get 2 in 1
Laptop all the way tablets are great if you want to have something to carry around like a purse dog. But laptops are a mans tool.
