Message: <blockquote data-quote="XGC UrbanKenobi" data-source="post: 39456" data-attributes="member: 18687">I'm not saying that he isn't more important, at least I haven't yet.  What I'm saying is that pretend he WAS a close friend of yours.  Would you still talk about him this way?  He was a human being just like any close friend of yours, and his death is as much a tragedy as anyone else's.Now, as an actor, he, like any artist, shows a great deal of himself through his work.  In that way, I feel like I DO know him.  If a member of a band I liked died, I'd be equally upset.  Same with my favorite painter.  The fact that he's famous isn't important, at least not in and of itself.  It simply shows how many people he's touched with his work.  Whether or not you feel that that adds tragedy to his death is immaterial.  If you ARE a fan of his, then you feel bad about his death.  If not, then I completely understand if you wouldn't miss him.  Either way, a typical person would empathize with what's happened, at least enough to not come in and make negative statements about his life.And yes, one college of mine was a community college (although I still see it as valid.), but the University of Iowa accepts wiki.  At least, the departments I've attended did.  I think each teacher has their own opinion of it.Anyway, I'm not wasting anymore attention on this.  My condolences to the friends, families, and fans of a great actor.  He will be missed.</blockquote>
