Message: <blockquote data-quote="SYN xARMYx" data-source="post: 736238" data-attributes="member: 42505">It's not about the money for the most part.  The money that is required for these people to come back goes directly back into the community which is great.  But I think that having to pay to get back in for people who made some bad choices is one of the only real ways that they can prove that they mean what they say when they ask to return.  People make bad choices some times and they realize this and correct their behavior but the leaders can't just look at a post and see if someone truly means what they say.  If you take the same situation and require some type of incentive, in this case a one time payment you can be much safer in assuming that the person that is requesting to return actually means what they say as they've invested something into it.  This allows people who may have made some bad choices but have learned from their mistakes to be able to choose to come back to the community if they are approved which is a good thing.  If the only requirement to come back to the community was based on assumptions then a lot of people wouldn't even get the chance to return even if they had changed.  With this process those people can show that they mean what they say are are willing to go that extra mile to show it.</blockquote>
