Video Games are SUPER high now days. What happend to good game costing only $20?

i dont remember videogames ever being $20 as soon as it hits retail, console games anyways. iirc it was $40-50 back then.

i remember the ps1 games were between 30 -40 dollars

Were it not for the fact that I saved money on my store card for Ghosts, it would of cost me £65 for the game. But looking for an old retro game the other day namely Final Fantasy VIII I noticed that was going for £40. Most of the time with games I think you are just paying for the brand name.
