It is the most popular sport in the U.S. But the most popular sport and most played sport in the world is soccer.
i know that i won't get much support (maybe i should recruit more canadian gamers though) but my absolute favorite sport is ice hockey... i love the action, passion, speed, skill, and physicality of hockey... everyone can go out back and play football and baseball(of course not as good as the pros but...) but it takes true skill to move on the ice the way hockey players do...
Football is my 2nd favorite, but the fact that hockey is non-stop (football there is a lot of dead time between plays) makes it my number 1

growing up in GA ive always played and watched football and baseball...but this past year i started watching hockey and so far i love it...there is never a dull moment in it
i love soccer and i didnt start watching hockey until the infamous Caps/Pens series. Plus the fact that I live in Atlanta and the Thrashers blow doesnt help me much.
Same here man, I grew up here in Columbus, Georgia and if you didnt play both baseball and football, then you atleast played one. Football is a mans sport and its definately the best there is. Go University of Georgia BULLDOGS!

Hockey really is a great sport. But the marketing people and the business people that run the NHL are absolute morons. I mean why would you set your schedule to be played on the same night as the NBA finals? Why not the day before or after?
And the fact that it's not broadcasted on any major networks in the US really hurts them.
Great sport to watch in person, not on TV.

hockey wasn't that great on TV unless you were a big fan... but now with HD TV, people can see the puck better. you are right about the terrible advertising in the NHL, because they should be jumping on the HD bandwagon and selling selling selling... i dont know why ESPN doesn't cover hockey at all... i don't know if its the NHL's fault or ESPN's doing... i mean the NHRA drag racing(which is also an awesome sport but not good ratings), pro bowling, and pro billiards is still on ESPN, so i'm sure they could reach a deal
the thrashers have a young team, so hopefully they will be competitive soon... not to mention kovalchuk is a great player and very fun to watch...
i'm a penn stater, so i don't really have much to say about UGA vs GT... but i like dogs and i hate insects, so i'll give the nod to UGA... sorry but go PSU!!! and if you want to say anything bad about ohio state, michigan, or Pitt, i'll join you... haha

PSU had 3 great receivers last year... deon butler(#3), derrick williams (#2), and jordan norwood(#82 i think... can't remember for sure)... QB was Darryl Clark #12, can run around defenders or pass over them... unfortunately all three of those receivers have graduated so next year might have a rough start for penn state football..
I honestly could care less if we lose to Georgia Tech again. There are only two teams I care to beat, Auburn and Florida...
florida seems to have a good team, and UGA lost some key players... but i like to root for underdogs
