I sit and play C.O.D. Black Ops 2....almost all day and it doesn't matter what time of day it is, but all i hear is people complain and argue about where the other person is camping and how hard there camping....So my question is what is CAMPING?
Meaning: 1. does it come down to time ?
2. how many people you kill ?.......what?
In the end aren't we just playing a character in a video game!!!!

Its just something people cru about online when someone is better than them, if you know that someone is camping then go kill them! It should be easy if you know where they are!

camping

The Act of staying in one spot in a map in a first person shooter video game to gain a tactical advantage over an enemy or group of enemies.

The person committing the act of camping is the "camper" and the spot on the map it is happening in is "camped".

Camping isn't limited to one weapon, or playing style

All in all I think when people accuse one of camping, it is generally when they are doing bad and you have had better luck. Most that get called campers most likely aren't campers. They're in-game exploits therefore not against the rules, some people can just do it better.

What Jehuty posted pretty much covered it, but I don't really accuse someone of being a camper unless they have a weapon optimal for camping, such as a shotgun or active camo + melee. Campers are people who know their weapon has an up close advantage, so they stay off radar and wait for prey to run by.

People who have snipers who have their favorite nest for instance, are not campers in my opinion, because they feel that place gives them the long range advantage that snipers need.

I dont hear it much on halo but i will say "they are camping in that corner" if a team is tactically staying in a certain place on the map drawing in enemies and killing them. But i wont say it with any malice is just a phrase to me.

IMO, the people that "camp" are those that patrol back and forth in one general area of the map, watching spawns/door entrances and such. Everybody that plays FPS's has camped to a certain degree.

If I offend anybody i'm srry at this statement i'm bout to make, but there is nothing "tactical" about patroling the same areas of maps/watching spawn points/ or laying in front of a doorway with a claymore at the entrance.

Playstyles of today's gamer generation isn't helping the games become interesting and exciting as they have been bc everybody is playing the same lazy way in order to get a kill or a streak. Whether you are doing good or doing bad, seeing the EXACT same kill-cam, game after game gets repetitive and boring. So all those who like to be "tactical", have fun winning against pre-pubescent kids.
