You could hear a pin drop in the room and the only noise coming from anyone was the turning of pages and the occasional scrape from the chair as a recruit went to the front to report in with his paperwork. I received a 300 on the final physical fitness test which is a perfect score. I could have done anything physically that was asked. That was the best shape I have ever been in. My time in the Marine Corps was great and I was able to go to quite a few different countries. Boot camp isn't easy or fun but when your mind is made up your body will follow.
BASIC TRAINING Basic training I went to Paris Island SC for Marine boot camp. I remember the flight down there and being picked up in the terminal by a Drill Instructor and being marched to a little room with 50 recruits packed into it. We all sat there reading Marine Corps knowledge as we waited for them to call us up one by one to make sure our paperwork was squared away.
